What is non-surgical facelift?
The face shows many signs of ageing, right from fine lines and wrinkles to the skin looking droopy and loose. A nonsurgical facelift is a minimally invasive procedure that can take care of all of these issues without actually performing surgery.
At Aesthetic Medispa, Non-Surgical face lift involves either of the following:
Liquid Facelift
Threadlift
Both of these are minimally invasive procedures that can take care of various issues related to ageing and provide excellent results.
What is the difference between a surgical facelift and non- surgical facelift?
Traditionally, a surgical facelift involves a proper surgical procedure with incisions on either side of the face around the ears in order to literally lift the face. After tightening the skin, these incisions are then closed with either stitches or sutures. A surgical facelift is a major process that also requires a lot of recovery time. The surgical facelift also brings about a drastic change in the facial features in terms of the cheeks, jowls (jawline), and even the temples.
When it comes to a non-surgical facelift, both the procedures, viz liquid facelift, and thread lift are minimally invasive. These involve the use of fillers for a liquid face lift and medical-grade thread for a thread lift. The recovery time after a nonsurgical facelift is quite less. Also, the results are more natural-looking and subtle as compared to a surgical facelift.
More than often, patients opt for a non-surgical facelift because of the pros like low recovery time and minimally invasive nature.
What to expect at the consultation with Dr Ashish Davalbhakt?
Consultations are an absolutely important aspect when it comes to any kid of treatment. This is the main reason that Dr Ashinsh Davalbhakta prioritizes his one-on-one consultations with the patient.
This is the time where you will be asked about your needs and requirements from the procedure. Dr Ashish will explain in detail what the procedure entails and give the patient an idea about the achievable result. Also, the patient will be explained the entirety of the procedure so that they can make an informed decision before undergoing the procedure.
Thread lift for lifting the brows does not work with the ‘one-for-all’ approach. It has to be customized according to every patient’s face shape, the amount of ageing and other such factors. Dr Ashish understands this and hence gives utmost importance to consultation.
Consultations are also an excellent time for the patients to examine their comfort level and rapport with the doctor as this is one of the most important aspects for a successful procedure.
What to expect before the procedure?
Before the procedure, Dr Ashish will need to know the entirety of your medical history including any procedures that you have done in the past. Any pills, supplements or medications must be informed as well. This is necessary for the procedure to go smoothly without any complications.
Any allergic reactions must be told to the doctor. Dr Ashish will also ask you to undergo a few blood tests in order to rule out any chances of other impending issues. You will be asked to stop certain medications, specifically blood-thinning medications.
Avoiding the in-take of nicotine in any and all forms is not allowed as it hampers the recovery and healing procedure.
Apart from that, the patient only needs to keep a relaxed and positive frame of mind as a preparation of the thread lift at Advanced Aesthetics, Pune.
What is liquid facelift?
A liquid facelift makes use of dermal fillers in order to eliminate wrinkles, fine lines, and creases. Dermal fillers are administered via small injections which makes this a minimally invasive procedure. As liquid facelift is a minimally invasive process, the scarring is minimum and the downtime required is zero. This is one of the most enticing features of the procedure.
Liquid facelift corrects the following issues:
Smile lines and frown lines: (wrinkles around the mouth that come as a result of smiling and frowning)
Forehead lines
Crow’s feet: (Lines below the eyes)
Apart from smoothening the lines and wrinkles, a liquid facelift is highly useful for adding volume to the cheeks, jowls, and other parts of the face which seem to have lost their plumpness due to ageing.
How are dermal fillers administered for liquid facelift at Advanced Aesthetics?
For administration of the dermal fillers, markings are made wherever one needs to smoothen the lines or restore volume. Anesthesia is not required as it is minimally invasive. However, in certain cases, topical anesthetic may be required. The syringes used for injecting are very small and hence the main is minimal. The amount of the injections highly depends upon the facial structure and the amount of wrinkles that need to be treated. It can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to complete the procedure.
What questions to ask at the consultation?
It is absolutely necessary to have clarity in the mind of the patient before undergoing any process. Here’s a list of questions that Dr Ashish has formulated in order to ask before the consultation.
- Am I the right candidate for the process?
- What is the process involved?
- What is the duration of the procedure?
- What are some of the precautions that need to be taken before and after the process?
- Are there any risks or complications involved?
- What measures can be taken to avoid these risks?
- What will the outcome of the process be?
- Are the results permanent? What can be done to maintain the results in the long run?
Who can opt for a liquid facelift?
The overall health of a person is of utmost importance before undergoing any procedure. This is necessary to have a smooth and speedy recovery. Also, anybody who wishes to undergo a liquid facelift must be a non-smoker or quit smoking according to the need. Avoiding the intake of nicotine in any form is necessary so as to avoid bruising and soreness as it adversely affects the healing process. There must not be any infections, open wounds or acne on the face during the time of the process.
Any candidate who is unhappy with the appearance of the face and wishes to rejuvenate it for a youthful look can opt for a liquid face lift.
If you fit in the above criteria, you are an ideal candidate for the process.
What is the cost involved in a liquid facelift?
Various factors are involved while counting the cost of a liquid facelift. The choice of fillers, the unique case, the situation, etc are some of the factors that contribute to the same. Thus, a fixed amount cannot be provided for the same.
Apart from these, the cost highly depends upon the location of the clinic, the technology used and other miscellaneous expenses.
As a liquid facelift comes under the umbrella of cosmetic surgery, no insurance covers it.
What are the risks associated with a liquid facelift?
Risks and complications, although very rare, might arise during or after a liquid face lift. Here are some of the risks associated with Liquid facelift which rarely turn into reality.
- Allergic reactions
- Persistent swelling and soreness
- Bleeding
- Chances of infection
- Numbness
Utmost care must be taken on both the ends to have a successful and risk-free procedure.
What is a Thread Lift?
The thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can visibly “lift” the skin with dissolvable medical grade sutures.
A Thread lift not only lifts the loose skin to reshape the face but also encourages the body to produce a high amount of collagen which improves the skin’s quality making it look younger and smoother. Thread Lift provides ongoing and progressive rejuvenation for the facial tissues.
Collagen is produced in the body wherever there are wounds. Collagen actually accelerates the healing procedure. When a patient undergoes a thread lift, collagen is produced which encourages firmer and younger looking skin.
How is thread lift performed at Aesthetic Medispa?
- The first step involved is the administration of anesthesia. This ensures that the patient stays comfortable throughout the surgery.
- A thin needle is inserted in the area to be lifted. The depth of the needle is maintained at the subdermal level. Medical-grade thread is passed into the skin through the needle to tighten and lift t.
- This procedure needs precision and accuracy. The needle is slowly withdrawn and the tissue is ‘gathered’ over the thread. Once the desired effect has been reached, the long ends of the thread are then cut off.
With the procedure of hydrolysis, whatever part remains inside the skin gets dissolved over the next 6 months. The new collagen and fibrous tissue that had formed around the sutures then continue to hold the skin up and tighten the skin.
How is recovery after non-surgical facelift?
- Recovery after Liquid facelift
The results of the injections can be seen immediately following the procedure. Although, many patients experience swelling or minimal bruising in the area of the injection site. The doctor may give you an ice pack or cold compress to help stem swelling.
- Recovery after Thread lift
Patients might feel tightness immediately after the procedure. This is common as the skin has been lifted upwards. The anesthesia generally wears down after 30 to 40 minutes and the patient can go home after that.
Application of ice-pack is necessary for at least 7 to 10 days after the procedure so as to control the swelling and bruising which is a common after effect of the procedure.
The doctor will also ask you to refrain from washing your face over the next 12 hours.
Patients can start normal activities after 2 days. Heavy exercise or physically strenuous activities can be started after 2 weeks of full recovery.
