Dr Ashish Davalbhakta is a board certified cosmetic surgeon with majority of his training in the UK and US. After returning from UK, he released that the cosmetic surgery, cosmetology and wellness sectors were very disorganized. There were no centers which catered to beauty and wellness needs in one place that is wellness sector. Dr Ashish says, “I firmly believe that people want a one stop shop where sub specialties which cater to looking and feeling good are present. I also believed that caring for oneself, to look good, feel fit is a continuum and starts with preventative and maintenance therapies such as spa therapies, progressing to nutrition, weight management, skin and hair care, and finally cosmetic surgery such as body sculpting and rejuvenation. Hence, I started Aesthetics Medispa, a one stop integrated, all under one roof, cosmetic surgery and wellness center.”

I also believed that caring for oneself, to look good, feel fit is a continuum and starts with preventative and maintenance therapies.

Today, we have our gen next who feels burdened to look better be it college or at work. How should they go about cosmetics and surgeries? Dr Ashish adds, “Everyone is special with individual innate beauty and charisma. They just need to realise and explore it. If it is not obvious, a definitive procedure can unveil your hidden self. That said, one must consult a proper trained and experience cosmetic surgeon. Approach someone who is a member of IAAPS (Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic surgeons) to avoid any serious damage.”Aesthetics Medispa recently run a mummy makeover programme. They specialise in transforming mummies back to the way they looked before pregnancy. All the changes that a woman has to go through during pregnancy, such as pendulous lower abdominal skin, stretch marks, caesarian scars, sagging breasts or loss of volume, can be corrected effectively. It is hugely transformational and gives the lady a new purpose in living, boosts her confidence and social interaction.

As a medical professional, Dr Ashish does feel the constant pressure to serve society. “24×7 the thought of helping society is at the back of my mind. Even after clinic hours, the thoughts of my patients nag me. I am constantly thinking about his/her well-being. The stress eventually will take its toll. However, I relax in front of the TV, listen to music, watch movies, play Badminton and workout. I find these distressing most of the times,” shares Dr Ashish.

Elaborating on different procedures Dr Ashish points out:

A. Detoxas the name suggests, implies detoxification ie removal of toxins from our body. Over the years, from the food that we eat, and environment, we tend to accumulate toxins in our body. These toxins harm our health. Regular detoxification (detox) helps in cleansing our various systems. “My advice would be to take a detox treatment from a qualified person, under supervision. Excessive detox can be harmful too. It can lead to vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration.

B. Weight loss : One should aim for weight loss through a combination of a balanced and controlled intake and increasing the expenditure of calories through exercise. Weight loss through starvation, is the worst kind of weight loss. Many people skip meals, or eat wrong kind of food, both of which is detrimental to health. It in fact causes increase in fat percentage in our body.

C. Cosmetic surgery:

Cosmetic surgery advances can help in solving many problems that affect people’s confidence, self-esteem and quality of life. However, it is important to do all your research before seeking cosmetic surgery. You should be absolutely clear with your expectations. The expectations if not extravagant are likely to get you more satisfied from the outcome, than something that is too perfect and not achievable.

Latest trends:
